I got O a Labubu because my parents wouldn’t have ever bought me anything like it. My mom would have said $50 was ridiculous for a toy (she is right) and my dad would have said that the toy was meaningless and so when O asked for it I said yes right away.

What was it that I wanted her to have?

What other kids have. Frivolity. Something trendy just because. A sense that she was part of something that she didn’t have to originate she just had to like. I’m sure there are other reasons.

Can I tell you how quickly I regretted my decision?

Shortly after, I mean like maybe within minutes, the obsession began. WAS IT REAL?
